Discover Zagreb at Your Own Pace

Enjoy an unforgettable private guided tour of Zagreb in English!

The vibrant capital of Croatia, Zagreb is a city of contrasts where history meets modern life. Medieval streets and historic landmarks blend seamlessly with trendy neighbourhoods, leafy parks and lively cafés, creating the perfect destination for a romantic city break.

Often overlooked in favour of Croatia’s famous coastal destinations such as Dubrovnik or Split, Zagreb deserves far more attention. We highly recommend spending a full weekend here to discover its hidden gems, charming historic quarters and relaxed local atmosphere at your own pace.

We offer several private guided tours to suit different interests and schedules. Discover Zagreb’s historic centre on a classic walking tour, experience the city’s unique atmosphere after dark, or explore beyond the main sights on a private cycling tour.

Zagreb and its surroundings offer countless opportunities, from peaceful strolls through beautiful parks to excursions to fascinating historic sites nearby. If you’d like to personalise your stay, we’d be delighted to create a tailor-made private tour based entirely on your interests.

Private Guided Tour of Zagreb's Historic Centre

Discover Zagreb’s fascinating historic centre, formed around the twin hills of Gradec and Kaptol.

During this immersive two-hour private walking tour, you’ll discover the city’s most iconic landmarks while your English-speaking guide shares its history, local anecdotes, romantic stories, dramatic events and everyday life in the Croatian capital.

Explore Dolac Market, the vibrant heart of the city, admire Zagreb Cathedral, discover the colourful roof of St Mark’s Church, reminiscent of the famous tiled roofs of Burgundy, enjoy panoramic viewpoints, stroll through the city’s elegant squares and walk through the fascinating Grič Tunnel, once used as a shelter during both the Second World War and the Croatian War of Independence.

Zagreb by night

Zagreb by Night

Seeing a city after dark offers a completely different perspective, and Zagreb is no exception.

This romantic evening tour focuses on the historic hills of Gradec and Kaptol, which become wonderfully peaceful once the daytime crowds disappear—unless a festival or concert brings them to life.

The historic district of Kaptol is dominated by the magnificent Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose illuminated twin spires create one of the city’s most spectacular night-time landmarks.

Your guide will share fascinating stories and local legends about this district, once the centre of religious power in Zagreb.

Over in Gradec, the viewpoints around Lotrščak Tower offer beautiful panoramic views over the illuminated city.

Zagreb Tour with or without a Food Tasting

This private guided tour offers two different ways to experience Zagreb.

Choose a comprehensive three-hour walking tour with your English-speaking guide to fully immerse yourself in the city’s history, architecture and local way of life.

You’ll discover Zagreb’s famous twin hills as well as part of the beautiful Green Horseshoe, including the area around the city’s historic railway station. This is our most popular tour among visitors.

Alternatively, combine the classic two-hour historic walking tour with a one-hour guided tasting session, allowing you to discover not only the city’s heritage but also its delicious local gastronomy.

Duration: 3 hours

Private Guided Cycling Tour of Zagreb

Exploring Zagreb by bicycle offers a completely different experience. A bike allows you to cover much more ground and venture beyond the usual tourist routes to discover another side of the city.

This private cycling tour is recommended for visitors who are comfortable riding in an urban environment and have a reasonable level of fitness. Parts of the route involve climbing the historic hills of Gradec and Kaptol, sometimes cycling uphill and occasionally walking with your bike.

Bicycle hire is arranged and paid for locally.

The great advantage of exploring Zagreb by bike is that you’ll discover far more of the city in less time.

Duration: 2½–3 hours

What Do Travellers Think of Their Private Guided Tour of Zagreb?

From the very beginning, it felt as though we were exploring Zagreb with a friend rather than a guide. We were able to chat freely, ask questions and enjoy genuine conversations throughout the tour. Beyond the fascinating history and architecture, which you know inside out, you introduced us to the true soul of the city: its people, their everyday lives and their way of life. Without you, we would certainly have enjoyed Zagreb, but we would have missed so many fascinating details, the wider historical context and the deeper understanding that made this visit so special. Thank you once again for such a wonderful and memorable experience!

Zagreb is a remarkably rich city, with its fascinating contrast between the Upper Town and the Lower Town. Having a private guided tour was the perfect way to understand its sometimes complex history and appreciate everything the city has to offer. Thank you once again, we're leaving with wonderful memories!
