How do you get to Seville?
Of the three Andalusian cities of Córdoba, Granada and Seville, Seville is the easiest to reach as it has its own international airport, Seville-San Pablo Airport (SVQ). Direct flights are available from several major European cities.
Getting from Seville Airport to the city centre is relatively easy.
- Bus: the EA bus service (Especial Aeropuerto) connects the airport with central Seville. It operates every day, with regular departures generally every 15 to 30 minutes. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes and serves several key stops, including Santa Justa railway station, Plaza de Armas and Kansas City Avenue.
- Taxi: taxis are available outside the arrivals terminal. The journey to the city centre takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Fares are regulated and include an airport surcharge, with the total cost generally ranging from €20 to €30.
- Car rental: several car rental companies operate at the airport. Hiring a car can be a good option if you plan to explore the surrounding area or visit other Andalusian cities, although buses and trains are perfectly adequate. The city centre can be reached via the A-4 in approximately 20 minutes.
- Ride-hailing services: services such as Uber and Cabify also operate in Seville and can be a convenient alternative to taxis. Cars can be booked through their mobile apps and offer competitive fares.

Seville’s two famous towers, the Giralda and the Torre del Oro beside the Guadalquivir, offer panoramic views over the city.
2. Metropol Parasol (Las Setas)
Located on Plaza de la Encarnación, this modern structure has a rooftop viewpoint offering 360-degree views of Seville. Sunset from Las Setas is particularly impressive as the city is transformed beneath the changing colours of the sky. The only drawback is that admission has risen to €15 per person or €25 for two, while entry is free for residents of Seville. We find this rather excessive.
3. Triana Bridge (Puente de Isabel II)
Triana Bridge offers magnificent views of the Guadalquivir River and the city. The sunset colours reflected on the water, with the lively Triana district in the background, make it a popular place at this time of day.
5. Triana district
As you walk along Calle Betis on the western bank of the Guadalquivir, you will find numerous bars and restaurants with terraces overlooking the river and Seville’s historic centre. It is an excellent place to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset.
6. María Luisa Park and Plaza de España
María Luisa Park and Plaza de España are perfect for a late-afternoon walk. The lush gardens and magnificent architecture of Plaza de España take on a golden glow in the setting sun, providing an idyllic setting in which to end the day.
7. Alameda de Hércules
This lively neighbourhood, filled with bars and restaurants, is an excellent place to watch the sunset while enjoying tapas. The trees and sculptures around this large square create a unique atmosphere at dusk.
8. Rooftop bar terraces
Several hotel rooftop bars offer panoramic views over Seville. Places such as La Terraza del EME and Pura Vida Terraza at Hotel Doña María allow you to combine refined cocktails with breathtaking city views as the sun goes down.
Explore Seville by night
The largest Gothic cathedral in the world and its famous bell tower are beautifully illuminated at night. A walk around these monuments offers spectacular views of their majestic architecture. Although the interior of the Alcazar is closed at night, its illuminated outer walls create a mystical atmosphere.
Plaza de España, one of Seville’s most impressive squares, is particularly beautiful at night, with its illuminated bridges and canals reflecting light across the water.
If you feel like taking a romantic walk, a stroll beside the Guadalquivir is ideal. Views of illuminated bridges such as Triana Bridge, or Puente de Isabel II, are especially charming.
Another possibility is to wander through the narrow streets and hidden squares of the old Jewish quarter. They are magical at night, with their wrought-iron streetlights and small restaurant and bar terraces.
