Treat yourself and travel more often!

Beautiful Italy offers a wealth of romantic destinations, but two cities particularly captivate couples looking for an enchanting atmosphere: Verona and Venice.

Vérone

Each with its own unique charm, these Italian gems enjoy a friendly rivalry when it comes to attracting travellers in search of romance. While Venice enchants visitors with its winding canals and mystical aura, Verona, steeped in the legendary story of Romeo and Juliet, offers another magnificent setting for a romantic getaway.

Verona, a historic city in the heart of Italy, has witnessed centuries of history. Its charm lies in its unique blend of Roman influences, cultural richness and an atmosphere perfectly suited to a romantic escape.

If you are fascinated by the legendary love story of Romeo and Juliet, or simply curious to learn more about it, Verona is the ideal place to immerse yourself in this timeless tale.

When is the best time to plan a romantic weekend in Verona?

The best time to plan a romantic weekend in Verona depends on your preferences in terms of weather and activities. However, spring, from April to June, and autumn, from September to October, are generally considered the ideal seasons in which to visit the city. Here are a few points to consider for each season:

  • Spring, from April to June:
    • Temperatures are mild, with sunny days that are perfect for romantic walks.
    • The city’s gardens and parks are in full bloom, adding even more charm to your getaway.
  • Autumn, from September to October:
    • Temperatures are pleasant and visitor numbers begin to fall after the peak summer season.
    • You can enjoy the autumn colours in the parks and along the River Adige.

However, if you prefer the lively atmosphere of summer and would like to attend outdoor festivals, the period from June to August can also be an appealing option. Just make sure you plan accordingly, as Verona can be hotter and busier at this time of year, making it feel less intimate.

Overall, spring and autumn offer the perfect balance between pleasant weather and a romantic atmosphere, making them the best seasons for a romantic weekend in Verona.
