Romantic Getaway Trogir
Escape to the romantic island of Trogir
Treat yourselves and travel more often!
In the shadow of Trogir’s medieval walls, a romantic getaway awaits couples looking for history, relaxation and natural discoveries.
Located just 20 minutes by bus from Split Airport, Trogir is quite simply a hidden gem on the Dalmatian coast.
Combined with the neighbouring island of ÄŒiovo and excursions to the Blue Cave and the surrounding islands, the town of Trogir promises an unforgettable romantic weekend.
When is the best time to visit Trogir for a romantic getaway?
Located on the Adriatic coast, Trogir enjoys a Mediterranean climate characterised by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Like every Riviera destination, Trogir becomes crowded with tourists during the summer, while temperatures can also rise considerably in the heart of the town on certain days.
We recommend planning your romantic weekend in Trogir between March and May or from September to November. Winters are mild in Trogir, although rainfall is generally more frequent. Some hotels and restaurants may also be closed during the winter season.
In addition to enjoying a quieter town and more comfortable temperatures outside the summer months, you will also find more affordable prices for hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments in Trogir.
How do you get to Trogir from the airport?
Unlike large capitals such as Paris or London, where reaching the city centre requires additional time and expense, Trogir is a small Croatian island town on the Dalmatian coast that is remarkably easy and stress-free to reach—something you will greatly appreciate during your trip.
Simply jump into a taxi or take bus 37 from Split Airport, and you will arrive at the entrance to Trogir’s old town in just 20 minutes. The journey along the Adriatic coast already provides some magnificent scenery before you have even reached the town.
If you are travelling by car from Split or elsewhere, we recommend leaving it in the car park located just before the pedestrian bridge leading to the historic centre, unless you have booked one of the few accommodation options offering private parking.
Choose a picturesque and cosy hideaway in Trogir
When planning your romantic weekend in Trogir, we recommend choosing charming accommodation or a hotel in Trogir’s old town itself to experience its picturesque atmosphere. Alternatively, stay just across the water on the island of Čiovo, where accommodation along the coast provides a different perspective of the town.
Many of the hotels and holiday rentals in this incredibly charming destination are housed in historic buildings, some dating as far back as the 12th century, or in carefully renovated former palaces.
Whether you are looking for a romantic hotel, a charming guesthouse or a cosy apartment entirely to yourselves, there is a wide choice in Trogir and on the island of ÄŒiovo, just across the water.
To help you find the perfect accommodation in Trogir and make your romantic weekend a success, we have selected a number of options, including bedrooms with a private hot tub to add an extra-special touch to your romantic getaway.
