Thanks to both its location and its breathtaking views, this is by far our favourite restaurant in the city.
The restaurant also offers an outstanding value weekday lunch menu for around €8–10, changing daily and including a starter plus your choice of a vegetarian or meat main course.
Restaurant Paris
Despite its name, Restaurant Paris pays tribute to France while remaining firmly rooted in Czech culinary tradition. It is the elegant restaurant of the historic Hotel Imperial, which has welcomed guests for well over a century.
Here, Czech cuisine is beautifully combined with French gastronomy. Dishes such as roasted duck legs are given a refined modern twist, accompanied by creatively prepared beetroot.
The dining room evokes a miniature Versailles, with classic chairs, crisp white tablecloths, grand drapes, statues and sparkling crystal chandeliers creating a wonderfully romantic atmosphere.
Tusculum
Located just outside the busy town centre, Tusculum is widely regarded as one of Karlovy Vary’s finest restaurants.
It’s also conveniently close to the beautiful Orthodox Church of Saints Peter and Paul, making it easy to combine a visit with your meal while admiring the town’s remarkable architecture.
This is true fine dining, yet surprisingly affordable. The tasting menu costs around €32, making it excellent value for the quality on offer. Reservations are highly recommended, as the restaurant is very popular.
Restaurant Romance
Restaurant Romance is an elegant dining venue located in the Castle District, serving beautifully presented, creative cuisine.
Guests can dine in either the stylish main dining room or the beautifully restored wine cellar, which provides a particularly intimate atmosphere. Booking at least one day in advance is recommended.
The main dining room seats around 25 guests, while the charming vaulted wine cellar downstairs accommodates approximately 20, creating an ideal setting for a romantic dinner.
It’s also an excellent choice for lunch before continuing your visit to the nearby castle.
Restaurant Promenada
Perfectly located between the Castle Colonnade and the Hot Spring Colonnade, Restaurant Promenada is the restaurant of the hotel bearing the same name.
It serves refined international cuisine in elegant surroundings.
Be sure to order the famous Crêpes Suzette, flambéed and prepared tableside on request. You may even be lucky enough to be served by a waiter who speaks English.
Oysterium
For something a little different, Oysterium is a romantic oyster bar offering fresh oysters served individually or on sharing platters in an elegant setting.
If you’re both seafood lovers, it’s the perfect place to indulge in a romantic meal and perhaps put the legendary aphrodisiac qualities of oysters to the test.
Choose from Fine de Claire oysters, Dutch and Irish oysters, or even the house speciality featuring oysters with Becherovka, the famous local herbal liqueur. Don’t forget to ask about the day’s special arrivals.

Le Marché
Despite its French name, Le Marché is not a French restaurant.
Chef Jan Krajč trained at the legendary Hotel Pupp before gaining experience in Vienna and Germany. He returned to Karlovy Vary to open Le Marché in 2013.
Alongside intimate tasting menus available by advance reservation for a limited number of guests, the chef also prepares a daily changing lunch menu (around €21) and dinner menu (around €37), showcasing fresh seasonal ingredients.
