Located next to the Grand Ducal Palace, between the National Museum of History and Art (MNHA) and the Luxembourg City Museum, this restaurant was founded by two French friends. You can dine in the cosy stone-walled dining room, the beautiful vaulted cellar downstairs, or on the terrace—there’s a setting for every occasion.
Our favourite is the stunning vaulted cellar, part of a historic building dating back to 1523, once attached to the Grand Lodge of Luxembourg.
Whether you’re dining as a couple or with friends, you can share generous boards featuring regional specialities from France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, including cured meats, cheeses, fish and seasonal vegetables.
The menu also features classic French slow-cooked dishes, gourmet Luxembourg-style burgers and plenty of other tempting options. Enjoy your meal!
Am Tiirmschen
Tucked away at the end of the charming Passage du Palais, a picturesque alley that is romantic by nature, this cosy little restaurant is full of character.
With its stone walls, fireplace and soft lighting, you’ll instantly be in the mood for an intimate evening together.
It’s also the perfect place to discover traditional Luxembourgish cuisine, with a menu packed with local specialities including Feierstengszalot, several varieties of Kniddelen, Judd mat Gaardebounen, and Wainzoossiss. You can even order a tasting platter to share—the perfect choice for couples. More familiar dishes such as salmon or beef tartare, carpaccio, rib-eye steak, salmon fillet and fresh salads are also available.
For the most romantic experience, request the table for two by the window or the secluded corner table.
Le Bouquet Garni
Nestled on the charming Rue de l’Eau, just a short stroll from the famous Chemin de la Corniche, Le Bouquet Garni offers an intimate and romantic setting surrounded by cobbled streets and historic buildings. Inside, warm wood, natural stone and soft lighting create an elegant atmosphere.

Restaurant Clairefontaine
A Michelin-starred restaurant overlooking Place Clairefontaine in the heart of Luxembourg City, Clairefontaine has been one of the country’s leading gastronomic destinations for more than twenty years.
Run by chef Arnaud Magnier and front-of-house manager Edwige Magnier, the restaurant has built an outstanding reputation for refined French cuisine.
The four-course Market Lunch Menu (€59) offers excellent value, while the seasonal tasting menu, regularly updated, is priced at €110 and includes a wide choice of starters, main courses and desserts. Considering the quality of the experience—especially by Luxembourg standards—we believe it represents excellent value for money.
L’Annexe
Named “Discovery of the Year 2023” by Gault & Millau, L’Annexe is well worth adding to your shortlist.
Located in the Upper Town, close to Luxembourg’s Court of Justice, the restaurant was completely redesigned in late 2018 with a chic Art Deco interior and a cosy lounge area. A few months later, the restaurant passed to new owners, who have continued its excellent reputation.
The restaurant offers exceptional tasting menus featuring meat, fish or vegetarian cuisine, priced at €105 (or €85 for the vegetarian menu). Expect beautifully crafted dishes including venison, pigeon, meltingly tender beef, John Dory, shellfish salad and many other creative seasonal dishes.

La Cristallerie
Located directly on Place d’Armes in the heart of Luxembourg City, La Cristallerie is one of the four restaurants within the luxurious Hotel Le Place d’Armes. We love its refined Grand Siècle-inspired décor, which immediately transports you away from everyday life and sets the stage for an exceptional fine dining experience.
From Tuesday to Thursday at lunchtime, you can enjoy excellent value with a two-course lunch menu from €49 or a three-course menu for €64, served to the entire table. Bec Fin
Located within the Hotel Parc Bellevue, close to Merl Park and just a short walk from the city centre, Bec Fin offers a peaceful and romantic setting. The elegant dining room and charming terrace overlook both the park and the city, creating a wonderfully intimate atmosphere.

This welcoming Portuguese restaurant is located in the picturesque Pfaffenthal district, one of our favourite neighbourhoods in Luxembourg City. Just one minute from the famous panoramic lift, it’s the perfect excuse to discover a completely different side of the city.
The weekday lunch menu offers excellent value, with either a main course and dessert or starter and main course, depending on the chef’s daily selection, for just €14.
Bick Stuff
Family-run by Virginie and Denis for more than twenty years, Bick Stuff is located in the lively Clausen district and is renowned for its warm hospitality.
The weekly changing lunch menu offers outstanding value at €22 for two courses or €27 for three courses, making it one of our favourite lunch spots in Luxembourg City.

Le Sud
Also located in Clausen, Le Sud serves some of the most creative lunch menus in Luxembourg City.
With prices starting at €38 for two courses or €46 for a three-course menu, it offers one of the best fine dining lunch deals in the city.
Every dish sounds irresistible, making it difficult to choose. Whether you dine in the elegant dining room—where rustic charm meets contemporary sophistication—or on the beautiful terrace, you’re guaranteed a memorable experience.
Les Jardins d’Anaïs
Located in the Clausen district, Les Jardins d’Anaïs is run by Annabelle and Pascal. This exclusive property is also a charming luxury boutique hotel with just seven individually designed rooms and suites, making it an ideal choice for a romantic getaway.
At lunchtime, two tasting menus are available for €65 and €85. A more elaborate six-course tasting menu (€159) is also served for both lunch and dinner.
In the evening, guests can choose between five-course (€99) and seven-course (€129) tasting menus. Vegetarians haven’t been forgotten either, with a dedicated seven-course vegetarian tasting menu designed with the same attention to detail.
La Mirabelle
Housed in a beautiful bourgeois residence between the Pfaffenthal and Kirchberg districts, La Mirabelle has been delighting diners for more than 30 years.
The menu is rooted in French gastronomy while incorporating subtle Asian influences. Signature dishes include Wagyu beef, mussels with yellow curry, and grilled lobster served with fennel ravioli, kale and a shellfish broth infused with matcha tea. Every dish sounds irresistible.
During the warmer months, guests can also enjoy the restaurant’s lovely terrace surrounded by greenery.
Mu Luxembourg Sofitel
Located just south of the Grund district and easily reached on foot or by bus, MU Luxembourg Sofitel boasts breathtaking panoramic views over Luxembourg City.

Reviews are somewhat mixed—you’ll either absolutely love it or find it simply good. Either way, it’s worth visiting the Observatory Bar for a sunset cocktail with spectacular views over the city.
De Feierwon
Completely redesigned during the pandemic, De Feierwon is the stylish grill restaurant of the beautiful Sofitel Luxembourg Europe.
With its elegant Art Deco décor, orange velvet banquettes and sophisticated atmosphere, it’s an excellent choice for a cosy romantic evening.
If you enjoy premium grilled meats and locally sourced Luxembourgish produce, this is the place to go. The menu proudly highlights ingredients from Meyrishaff Farm, Maison Steffen, butcher Guy Kirsch, and seasonal vegetables supplied by Sandrine, showcasing the very best local producers.
The restaurant is easily accessible via Tram Line 1, with several bus routes also stopping nearby.

Dans le Noir ? offers one of the most original dining experiences in Luxembourg City. Guests enjoy their entire meal in complete darkness, encouraging them to rediscover taste, smell and texture without the distraction of sight.
The concept was first launched in Paris in 2003 by Edouard de Broglie before expanding to several cities around the world, including Luxembourg City in 2022.
It’s an unforgettable experience for couples, as dining in total darkness heightens the senses, sparks the imagination and creates a uniquely intimate atmosphere.
The three-course menu (starter, main course and dessert) costs €55, and throughout the evening you’ll be guided by trained blind or visually impaired servers.
